chipMy research focuses on the climatology of extreme weather and is carried out along two distinct tracks:

1) Analyses of the spatial and temporal characteristics of extreme weather events and the relationships of these characteristics with the atmospheric processes and patterns that produce them.

2) Investigation of the impacts of extreme weather events and how these impacts are related to the social vulnerability.  Much of my recent research lies at the intersection of climate and public health and focuses on the health burden of weather and climate extremes.

I am involved in an eclectic mix of research studies that are summarized on my publications page.
